My recent work has been based on an exploration of Australian and New Zealand landscapes in an abstract form. It is an investigation into divergent and complementary forms, their compositional as well as abstract relationships within the natural landscape.
My work is about mark making and records the texture and traces of the landscape, a human experience of the land, rather than its material presence. I work across the media of printing, painting and collage preferring to work in fine layers of material. I tend to use a limited palette, this enables me to concentrate on the issues being presented, whilst the subtleties in the change of tones create their own harmonic rhythm, and add spatial qualities which are important to me.
Judith Moule is a printmaker and painter living and working in Hertfordshire who was trained at the University of Hertfordshire, Watford College and the Prince of Wales Trust.
Judith has been involved in printmaking for over 10 years
and has exhibited in the U.K. and has successfully taught
in schools. Within her own practice, as well as painting,
she works predominantly with collograph/carborundum, monoprint and etching.
